To Wash or Not to Wash — Apple Cider Vinegar

New trend alert 🚨

I guess apple cider vinegar can be more useful than just washing fruits and shredding a few extra pounds. Have you ever suffered from an itchy scalp days after getting your braids or weave done? The cider can also be used to wash away unwanted residue from your braiding hair. Braiding is making a come back, or should I say never left! This simple solution will rid you of the dreadful itchy scalp after getting your braids done.

Why the itch?

Most synthetic hair like kanekalon are coated with alkaline, that is what’s causing you to itch even if you don’t have sensitive skin.

How to get rid of it

It’s simple, you will need a tub or a large sink. Fill the tub with warm water half way up or enough where the hair can be fully submerged in the water. You will then add one quarter cup of apple cider vinegar to the water.

Open the pack of braiding hair, take the full pack and swirl the hair into the solution. Allow the hair to sit for at least 15 mins. Over time you will start to see a white film flow up to the surface.

Remove the hair from the water and wash the hair with your favourite conditioner to soften and ride the smell of the cider.

Allow the hair to air dry overnight and style as usual.

No more itchy scalp!
